Airlines Checking Onward Tickets on Bangkok → Ho Chi Minh City
When flying one-way from Bangkok (BKK / DMK) to Ho Chi Minh City (SGN), airline check-in agents query IATA Timatic to verify entry compliance for Vietnam. Because carriers face hefty fines and mandatory return-transport costs if a passenger is refused entry at SGN, one-way travelers without a residence permit or long-term visa are required to present a confirmed outbound flight reservation with a verifiable 6-character PNR code.

Frequently Asked Questions: Bangkok to Ho Chi Minh City Onward Ticket
- Does VietJet Air check onward tickets from Bangkok to Ho Chi Minh City?
- Yes. VietJet Air and Thai AirAsia check-in agents in Bangkok almost always ask visa-exempt travelers for a verifiable outbound flight leaving Vietnam within their allowed visa-free period (15 to 45 days depending on nationality).
- Do I need an onward ticket if I have a 90-day Vietnam e-Visa?
- Travelers with a valid 90-day Vietnam e-Visa are checked less frequently at SGN immigration, but budget airlines at Bangkok check-in still regularly request proof of onward departure within the 90-day e-Visa window.
- Are bus tickets to Cambodia accepted at Bangkok airport check-in for Vietnam?
- Airline check-in staff in Bangkok frequently reject informal bus tickets to Phnom Penh because they cannot be verified in Timatic/GDS systems. A verifiable flight PNR out of SGN is the safest proof.

- Choose Instant delivery to receive your verifiable flight PNR in 2–20 minutes, or Standard delivery (up to 14 hours) when ordering ahead of your flight.
